MIPAD First Journey to Africa Experience
Never Been to Africa? Let’s Change That!
We’ve taken a historic step to #CorrectTheMap. Now, come experience Africa!
Your Roots. Your Story. Your First Journey to Africa.
MIPAD is inviting our Travel & Tourism Edition Honorees to help make someone’s first journey to Africa a reality.
How it works
- Get nominated, starting with the MIPAD New York City Edition.
- Tell your story about why you want to visit Africa for the first time and what the journey would mean to you.
- Rally your community and share your story.
- If the experience proceeds, MIPAD will publish official selection criteria and rules.
- If confirmed, experience Africa firsthand and share your journey with the world.
✅ ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT: This must be your very first visit to Africa. No exceptions.
Proposed inaugural destination: Lagos, Nigeria · December 2026 · MIPAD Lagos Diaspora Experience. The experience is subject to confirmed sponsorship and logistics.
This is an interest registration, not a live prize entry. It does not guarantee selection or sponsored travel. No sponsor, flight or award is confirmed.
Check eligibility and register interest
First, answer whether you have ever physically visited an African country. People who answer yes are ineligible and are not asked to provide contact or story details. Eligible visitors may submit their name, email, short story and an optional video link.
Interest registration is separate from a MIPAD nomination. Your story stays private unless you separately consent to public-display consideration; marketing consent is a separate choice. Read the First Journey privacy information.
